The winners of a contest for young artists across Bridlington have been revealed
A creation by pupils at Quay Academy has been voted the favourite in the Promenades Shopping Centre’s Schools Art Campaign.
Twelve schools took part in the contest, which asked children to create huge murals with a ‘The Great Outdoors’ theme.
More than 2,000 shoppers visited the shopping centre’s website to vote for the one they liked best.
The Charity Choice Award – picked by the Promenades Shopping Centre’s charity of the year, Bridlington Scouts – was awarded to Bempton School.
Carl Brown, centre manager, said: “This is my third year being involved with the Schools Art Campaign and yet again I was amazed by the quality of the artwork produced by the schools.
“It’s great to see so many engage with the competition and vote for their favourite piece and have a little bit of friendly rivalry between the schools.
“The pieces of artwork will be on display throughout the Promenades if people wish to come down and enjoy them.”
