Quay Academy

Our school's friendly, communal atmosphere was noted by Ofsted with them describing us as, 'a happy and inclusive school where pupils behave well and develop strong relationships'.

Activities

We offer our pupils a wide range of activities to support and extend the learning that takes place in the classrooms.

We currently offer or recently have offered the following:

  • Reading for pleasure
  • Stories we love
  • Football
  • Athletics
  • Netball
  • Hockey
  • Dance
  • Gardening
  • Computing
  • Choir
  • African Drumming
  • Orchestra
  • Art
  • Graphic Novels
  • Mindful Colouring

We also try to provide events throughout the school year to enrich our pupils' learning experiences. This has included events such as celebrating World Book Day by getting the children to dress as their favourite storybook character and to bring in their favourite book!

Off site visits are also essential for bringing the curriculum to life. For this reason regular educational visits are arranged for all children as part of their work. In Years 4 and 6 pupils are able to participate in residential visits. The children are able to enjoy the experiences of the wider world whilst learning about how to organise themselves away from home.

Clubs

Our after school club runs every day Monday to Friday, 3.20-4.30pm at a set cost of £2 per child, per day.

We also offer a breakfast club. This runs from 8.00-8.40am daily and offers a meal of toast, cereal, juice or milkshake at £1.50 per child, per day.

Both clubs are to be paid in advance and children should enter school via the main school entrance.

This club offers great opportunities for children to socialise, enjoy a range of activities and have a good meal to start the day.
