We are committed to giving all of our children every opportunity to achieve the highest of standards. We do this by taking account of pupils’ varied life experiences and needs. We understand that to make sure Quay Academy is a happy and safe environment we need the feedback from our children.
This is why we very much value our School Council. There is one representative per class (14 in all) from Reception to Year 6. They are voted in ‘hustings style’ by the class and keep their position for full academic year. The successful pupils are the voice of their peers and regularly attend meetings about the running of the school.
We also have a Key Stage 2 Junior Leadership Team (JLT) who are chosen by the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) for the year as those who embody our values the best. They act as another student voice meeting with the governors as well as the SLT.
